Comcast SportsNet offers several different types of Internships for college students looking to gain hands on experience in either the television production or marketing field. There are four departments at CSN that are always on the lookout for Interns.
INTERNS: MARKETING
Comcast SportsNet New England is looking for hard working, enthusiastic, proactive individuals, with a background in public relations and marketing, to directly assist in the implementation of a variety of public relations programs, consumer promotion campaigns and other marketing projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Maintain internal and external communications with media, advertisers, affiliates and consumers
-Assist in the preparation and distribution of CSN press material
-Assist in the collection of press clips, photo files and mailing lists
-Attend and assist with various community outreach campaigns
-Update and maintain the CSN consumer database and respond to viewer e-mail
-Attend on-site promotions at local sporting events (may require nights and weekends)
-Provide various administrative assistance
REQUIRED SKILLS:
-Strong communication and writing skills
-Familiarity with the preparation of pr materials i.e. press releases, fact sheets
-Computer experience with Word, PowerPoint, Excel
-Interest in learning about the sports and television industry
-Interest in sports
INTERNS: ON-AIR PROMOTIONS/PRODUCTION DEPARTMENT
Must have strong television skills and be very familiar with professional sports (especially New England teams). Interns will be responsible for dubbing of tapes, research (both internet and footage), website assistance, basic editing, field production assitance, and library management.
Skills that would be useful would be deck-to-deck editing, and basic understanding of Final Cut Pro, Adobe Photoshop, and some HTML/content management background (not absolutely required).
